Excess body weight linked to greater cancer risk


I really like seeing headlines like this in our local paper, talking about ‘health’ rather than just appearance when referring to body weight.

Maintaining your weight in the ‘healthy weight range’ is an important aspect of health and creating sustainable positive change to your weight can be a complex task.

In general terms, weight loss tends to be driven more by dietary intervention than exercise alone, however exercise becomes very important to maintain weight loss (in addition to it’s many other health benefits of course!)

Your family background, amount and quality of sleep and a number of other factors can contribute to your capacity to achieve a healthy weight range.

What’s for certain is that having support along this journey is critical for most people which is where professionals such as dietitians and personal trainers come in!
